Create Massive Light Shows with Your Friends

With Teralyt, you can light shows with as many phones as you want. Create a swarm and then ask your friends to join. All phones in a swarm work together, showing coordinated animation.

What is a Swarm

Swarm connects many phones together, allowing them to show coordinated color effects. Each swarm has a location, so you can join it if you are nearby. Any user can join a swarm, but only user who has created the swarm can control it. If nobody joins the swarm in 24 hours, it goes away.

How to Create a Swarm

Tap "Create Swarm" button. Enter swarm name and description, and tap "Done". The swarm is created at your current location. To join it, or to control it, you must be nearby.

How to Join a Swarm

If there are swarms nearby, the "Swarms Nearby" button will be enabled. Tap it to see the list of swarms you can join or control. The swarms that can be controlled will have "Control" button.

Animations

A swarm owner can set the swarm animation. The animation plays in a continuous loop on all the phones in the swarm. The swarm's owner can change the animation at any time.

How to Change Animations

You can only set animations on the swarms you own, which is to say the swarms you've created. If a swarm can be controlled by you, it will have "Control" button. Tap it to see the animation steps. Each step has a duration, and steps are played one ofter the other in a continuous loop. You can change any animation step by tapping on it and changing its properties. You can also add new steps, delete steps, etc.

Animation Types

Currently, three animation steps are available:


  • Set Color - Same color is displayed on all phones at the same time

  • Wave - Color wave propagates through all the phones, alternating between two colors

  • Text - Scrolling text is displayed on all the phones, where each phone works as a single "pixel". You might need lots of phones together to see the whole text!

New animation types are added all the time, so check back later for the app updates!
